Admission

The Jackson Institute for Global Affairs offers three degree programs:

B.A. in Global Affairs

The undergraduate Global Affairs major is designed for Yale College students who want to better understand and eventually impact the world around them.

Admission to the major takes place during the sophomore year. Applications are due in mid November.

 

M.A. in Global Affairs

The graduate program in Global Affairs prepares students to impact the global community through an academically rigorous yet flexible interdisciplinary program. Our students continue the University‚Äôs tradition of attracting creative, intellectually curious individuals who come to Yale ready to define their own path to a career in global leadership and service.

Students apply through the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at Yale. Each year, the online application is available from mid-August through January 2.

 

M.A.S. in Global Affairs for mid-career professionals

The Master of Advanced Study (M.A.S.) in Global Affairs is a one year program for mid-career professionals. The program is small by design, with only a few admitted students each year. The M.A.S. is aimed at professionals with extensive experience in a field of global affairs such as, but not limited to, international security, diplomacy, and development.

Students apply through the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at Yale. Each year, the online application is available from mid-August through January 2.
