Jackson Institute Undergraduate Programs of Study

The Global Affairs major is intended to appeal to students who want to better understand and eventually impact the world around them. The stand-alone major has two tracks: international development and international security. The capstone project for the major is participation in a policy taskforce in the fall of the senior year. Members of the Class of 2013 were the first to be admitted to the Global Affairs major.

The International Studies major is a second major that complements the discipline-based requirements of a first major with the comprehensive and interdisciplinary study of international affairs. Members of the Yale College class of 2012, admitted to the IS major in their sophomore or junior year, will be the last to complete these requirements.
