Doo Won Choi is a Foreign Service Officer from the Republic of Korea (ROK). He graduated from Seoul National University with a B.A. in international relations in 2009 and joined the ROK Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2010. Prior coming to Yale, Doo Won worked as deputy director in the North America Division II, Development Cooperation Division, and Consular Services Division in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 2016, he was deputy director in the Arms Control Division, Ministry of National Defense, and organized the 2016 5th Seoul Defense Dialogue. From 2011 to 2014, he served in the ROK Air Force as intelligence officer analyzing North Korea's political and economic situation for 40 months. At Yale, Doo Won plans to study security issues in the Korean Peninsula and Northeast Asia region. Doo Won was raised in Seoul and Ann Arbor, Michigan.
