Vaman Muppala graduated with Honors from The University of Maryland – College Park in 2011 with a degree in philosophy and English literature. Soon after, Vaman enlisted in the United States Marine Corps as an Infantryman. While assigned to 2nd Battalion 6th Marines and 3rd Battalion 2nd Marines, Vaman served as a Fire Team Leader and Rifleman. He was recognized for his service with a Certificate of Commendation and multiple meritorious masts. Vaman deployed twice to the Pacific Theater, leading Marines in bi-lateral security operations in Japan and South Korea. After being honorably discharged from the Marines, Vaman was admitted into the Yale School of Management, where he has pursued interests in technology and financial markets. Recently, Vaman finished a summer internship as a Senior Management Associate at Bridgewater Associates, the world’s largest macroeconomic hedge fund.
