Anta Babacar Ngom Diack is a Senegalese political leader, entrepreneur, and public servant whose career bridges business leadership, democratic reform, and women’s empowerment across West Africa. Born and raised in the suburbs of Dakar, she spent over a decade building and scaling one of West Africa’s largest agro-industrial enterprises, driving regional food sovereignty and creating thousands of jobs for young people from low-income communities.
As Franchisee and CEO of KFC Senegal, she pioneered inclusive employment models—launching the first franchise location operated entirely by women and another designed to empower persons with disabilities, proving that business can be a powerful engine for social change. In 2024, she made history as the first Senegalese woman to meet the presidential sponsorship threshold and run for president, galvanizing a new generation of citizens around ethics, accountability, and youth empowerment. She was subsequently elected as an Independent Member of Parliament, sitting on both the Law and Finance Commissions, where she advances budget transparency, constitutional integrity, and citizen participation in public decision-making.
As founder and President of the Alternative pour la Relève Citoyenne (ARC), she leads a progressive political party focused on youth leadership, gender equity, and democratic renewal, with chapters across all 46 of Senegal’s departments. She holds advanced degrees from York University, Université Paris-Dauphine, and Sciences Po Paris. She has been decorated as a Knight of the National Order of Merit of Senegal, and recognized by Forbes Africa, Institut Choiseul, and the Africa CEO Forum among Africa’s top leaders.
