Mohamed Elfayoumy is a business builder and strategist with a career spanning diplomacy, international organizations, and the private sector. He began his professional journey in the Egyptian diplomatic service, where he served as his country’s envoy to Syria during the early years of the conflict. In that role, he played a key part in the evacuation of thousands of Egyptian nationals from the conflict zone. He later joined the United Nations, contributing to efforts aimed at negotiating a political settlement to the crisis. Transitioning to the private sector, Elfayoumy joined McKinsey & Company, where he became a leader in the firm’s public sector and healthcare practice in the Middle East. His work focused on strategy, transformation, and large-scale system reform across governments and institutions. He currently leads an investment platform focused on healthcare across Africa and the Middle East, with an emphasis on building and scaling sustainable healthcare services. Alongside his executive role, he remains engaged in public discourse, contributing through writing and podcasting on topics related to policy, economics, and regional development.
