Nagla Alkhoreiby

Nagla Alkhoreiby is an urban specialist and development policy practitioner. In her current role as Senior Policy Associate and Sector Lead at J-PAL Middle East and North Africa, she forges partnerships, disseminates regional policy insights from J-PAL's global evidence base, and advances evidence-informed policymaking across the region. She leads the Environment, Energy, and Climate Change sector through MENA's Air and Water Lab - the Hub of Advanced Policy Innovations for the Environment (HAPIE), to co-design and co-generate evidence on promising solutions with government partners tackling the most pressing air, water and climate challenges; leveraging existing and new data sources; measuring the effectiveness of these solutions, and determining which ones should be scaled up. She also leads the Humanitarian Action sector at J-PAL MENA. 

Prior to joining J-PAL in 2023, Nagla worked in urban planning, research and strategic development in Egypt and the broader Middle East and North Africa region. She holds a Masters degree in Integrated Urbanism and Sustainable Design from the University of Stuttgart and Ain Shams University, and a certificate of Public Policy Innovations from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
