Shalu Agrawal

About

Shalu is the Director of Programmes at the Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW), one of Asia's leading climate think tanks. As part of the senior leadership, she develops and articulates CEEW's vision and strategy to impact sustainable development at scale. She monitors and ensures strategic discipline across CEEW's 15 research verticals and supports the optimisation of processes and people. 

Shalu has a decade-long experience in policy research and government advisory on the role of policy, technology, and markets in climate action and energy transition. Her current research focuses on power systems – from grid integration of renewable energy, utility digitalisation, to demand-side management and consumer engagement. She has published 40+ peer-reviewed publications, including contributions to high-impact journals like Nature Energy and Energy. 

Shalu is a Yale Emerging Climate Leaders Fellow (2024 batch) and a Chevening Fellow (2016 batch). She has an MSc in Economics and Policy of Energy and Environment from University College London and a BTech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Roorkee.
