The Brady-Johnson Program in Grand Strategy will host a conversation on the future of US-China relations with Jessica Chen Weiss, Michael J. Zak Professor for China and Asia-Pacific Studies in the Department of Government at Cornell University, and Arne Westad, Elihu Professor of History and Global Affairs and Director of International Security Studies, moderated by Michael Brenes, Interim Director of the Brady-Johnson Program in Grand Strategy and Lecturer in History. 

Weiss is a political scientist and a nonresident Senior Fellow at the Asia Society Policy Institute Center for China Analysis. She studies Chinese politics and foreign policy, focusing on nationalism and public opinion. Westad has published widely on twentieth century Asian and global history. His current research focuses on China’s late twentieth century economic reforms how they changed the global economy.
