Enrique Chuidian (DC'22) is a Chemical Engineering major. He is from Manila, Philippines, but spent most of his life in Hong Kong. Enrique's interests in global health are primarily focused on public health issues in low-resource communities, such as slums and rural communities in the Philippines. After working with a travelling free clinic, visiting slums and rural communities around the Metro-Manila region, Enrique was shocked to see the systemic weakness and inconsistencies that plagued the Philippine healthcare system. Enrique is particularly interested in issues of healthcare access, sociopolitical determinants of aid and public health initiatives, and the intersection of environmental engineering and health. Outside the classroom, Enrique sings with Mixed Company of Yale, dances with Sabrosura, and works as a Communication and Consent Educator.
