Yousof Omeish (BR '22) comes to Yale from Northern Virginia, right outside of Washington, D.C., but originally from the historically-rich Tripoli and Derna in Libya. At Yale, Yousof is a History major, hoping to balance his studies between the histories of Islam and the civilizations it touched, and of medicine in the U.S. Yousof is also a pre-medical student, seeking the intersections of his studies in hopes of being a practicing physician informed by the challenges certain populations face in accessing adequate and equitable health care. This is what drew him to Yale's Global Health Studies program–applying this interest to different contexts, regions, and histories. On campus, Yousof has been involved with the Yale International Relations Association in various capacities, the Muslim Students Association, and volunteer opportunities. In his free time, Yousof always loves debating the sports world with his friends and brother and enjoying the company of family and friends.
