Abdeali Saherwala is a second-year, Master of Environmental Management (MEM) student at Yale School of the Environment (YSE). At YSE, Abdeali is working on creating a five-year Sustainability Plan for Yale School of the Environment. He is a Senator representing YSE in the Graduate & Professional Student Senate at Yale University. His passion for journalism is being exercised as he is a Fact Checker & Research Assistant for Yale Environment 360, and he is a Writer for Yale Center for Business and the Environment. Prior to YSE, Abdeali has worked with Member of Parliament (MP) Jean Yip from the Liberal Party of Canada, and he was an Indigenous Law Researcher for the Indigenous Environmental Justice Project (IEJ) at Osgoode Hall Law School. During the Summer of 2021, he worked as a Clean Energy Policy and Finance Analyst for the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in which he worked on topics such as energy efficiency , clean energy deployment, Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP), Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and climate change mitigation/adaptation plans.  Broadly, he is interested in the deployment of clean energy projects, energy efficiency , renewable energy project finance and ESG for corporations.
