Eleanor Cook (PC’21) is from Takoma Park, Maryland and has been fascinated by medicine and health for as long as she can remember.  A pre-med student at Yale, she is especially interested in social determinants of health.  Eleanor spent this past summer researching the relationship between factors that influence patient-provider communication and patient health outcomes specifically as they relate to diabetes.  She would like to pursue a career as a doctor addressing international health inequities.
On campus, Eleanor is involved in Student Partnerships in Global Health, a student organization that facilitates global health research projects, and she volunteers at the HAVEN Free Clinic.  She is a member of the Yale Women’s Club Soccer team and an intramural secretary for Pierson College.
