Jariel Bytheway is a second-year MBA student at the Yale School of Management (SOM). He earned his BA with honors in Political Science with an emphasis in International Relations from the University of California, Los Angeles. During this time he also studied abroad at Freie Universität Berlin, focusing on European Politics and International Business. Prior to SOM, Jariel worked as a Contracts Manager and Strategy Associate at Alphabet’s Verily Life Sciences in South San Francisco, CA as well as a Contracts International Strategic Negotiator in the aerospace industry – originally a member of Raytheon’s corporate leadership development program. At Raytheon, he served on many programs, which included working directly with NASA and NOAA on the satellite camera that provides unique data for accurately monitoring global weather patterns and other predictive information – VIIRS. Most recently, Jariel interned at Google in San Francisco, CA within Strategy & Partnerships on new Go-To-Market strategies. Jariel is also a Co-Founder of the sustainable, high-fashion travel goods and accessories company Lux Diem. While at Yale, he is a recipient of the Consortium Fellowship, previously served as a Tech Club leader, current Graduate Affiliate at Pierson College, as well as Actions Director for Graduate Studies for Yale’s Carbon Charge Working Group. Jariel is passionate about finding viable economic solutions to reducing our carbon footprint and creating a circular economy.
