Lucas Walz is a Molecular, Cellular, Developmental Biology major in Berkeley College. He hopes to pursue a career in medicine and global health. He is interested in the epidemiology of infectious diseases in developing countries and in trying to remedy disparities in health access in rural areas of Mexico. His interests in biology and public health have translated into teaching about STIs and contraception in New Haven public high schools with Community Health Educators, creating a public health mentorship and development program with the Public Health Coalition, and volunteering his time with the HAVEN free clinic.
