Osasenaga Kelly Aghayere graduated from Duke University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in public policy and Spanish. Osasenaga was born in Benin City, Nigeria and immigrated to Reston, Virginia at the age of 10. Following his graduation from Duke, Osasenaga served as a college adviser through the College Advising Corps at Charles E. Jordan High School in Durham, North Carolina. As a college adviser, Osasenaga worked with underrepresented high school students to achieve their college aspirations. As an adviser, Osasenaga also worked to promote a college-going culture by organizing and executing college tours, college representative visits, and workshops. At Yale, Osasenaga plans to study ways of achieving equitable and sustainable development, especially in the African region. Osasenaga believes that the reason that he is able to attend Yale is because of the goodness of God, and the sacrifice and hard work of his parents and family who are his heroes.
