Rachel Xu is a first-year M.A. student at the Yale Jackson Institute for Global Affairs. Prior to Yale, she majored in economics, finance, and psychology at the University of Melbourne. She completed her Honors year in 2016, where her thesis was an empirical study into the design of microfinance contracts to minimize the likelihood of default. Most recently, she worked as a consultant with the Boston Consulting Group, where she spent the majority of her time in the Public Sector Practice Area, working on a wide range of cases spanning social policy and social services, refugee labor market integration, immigration and border protection, and digital transformations.
