Veena Muraleetharan (PC ‘20) is an Anthropology major from Norman, Oklahoma. Her interest in global health stems from her passion for reproductive justice. She hopes to use a global health framework to better understand how cultural context and larger social systems shape issues of reproductive freedom, such as access to maternal health care, HIV/AID prevention, access to abortion and birth control, and preventing rape and domestic abuse. On campus, Veena is the co-president of the Reproductive Justice Action League at Yale (RALY), a teacher for Community Health Educators (CHE), and a volunteer at Planned Parenthood.
