Faculty Affiliates are an interdisciplinary group of scholars, researchers and practitioners in global health who offer advising and support to Global Health Scholars as they develop their interests and explore academic and professional opportunities in the field.

Nathan Grubaugh

Nathan Grubaugh joined the faculty at Yale School of Public Health in 2018. The Grubaugh Lab uses genomics to determine the emergence risk and to track the spread of mosquito-borne viruses, like Zika, chikungunya, dengue, and West Nile. Read full bio

Louisa Lombard

Louisa Lombard is a cultural anthropologist who studies African borderland areas where the state is largely absent, and a range of actors govern. Her research locales, primarily the remote and little-populated eastern reaches of the Central African Republic (C.A.R.), are further marked by violent histories that continue into the present. Marcella Nunez-Smith

Marcella Nunez-Smith, MD, MHS, is an Associate Professor at the Yale School of Medicine and Associate Professor at the Yale School of Public Health. Her research focuses on promoting healthcare equity for vulnerable populations with an emphasis on healthcare workforce development, patient assessment of healthcare experiences, and healthcare system strengthening to address chronic disease in low and middle resource settings.
