Gabriel Guggisberg Alarcón

Gabriel Guggisberg leads the sustainable mobility and green hydrogen division at the sustainable energy agency of Chile. He designs and implements novel solutions to address complex problems in the energy-mobility nexus. Gabriel has vast experience working in Latin America, North America, and Africa where he has contributed to new pivotal policies that foster renewable energies, implemented civic-tech innovations to improve life quality in cities and also has work building new ecosystems for emerging technologies.

Gabriel has been awarded outstanding recognitions from relevant organizations such as The Economist Magazine in New York (best national proposal of the MBA U.S Challenge in 2016), the World Energy Council in London (selected as the Chilean Energy leader 2020), MIT (MIT Energy Prize Finalist in 2017), ANID (Chilean scholarships for graduate studies in 2016), and Columbia University (Startup Prize 2017). Gabriel holds a civil engineering degree from the University of Chile and a master´s degree in public administration (MPA) and energy resources from Columbia University.
