Dr. Abdulla Isa Alabbasi is a climate professional with extensive experience in sustainability, energy transition, and AI-driven energy solutions. He currently serves as director of the Energy and Environmental Studies Program at the Bahrain Center for Strategic, International, and Energy Studies (Derasat), where he leads research on renewable energy integration, climate action, and the equitable transformation of energy systems.

Abdulla is the founder of the first Artificial Intelligence Renewable Energy (AIRE) Laboratory in Bahrain, a pioneering initiative that harnesses advanced digital tools for innovation, decision support, and policy development. The lab provides decision-makers and policymakers with data-driven strategies to accelerate the energy transition, strengthen infrastructure, and align national efforts with global climate goals.

Beyond his national role, Abdulla has authored and led several international research projects in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), universities, and leading think tanks around the world. His publications and studies reflect a multidisciplinary approach that integrates technology, sustainability, and policy to address the urgent challenges of climate change.
