Aminata Bocar Ba

2025 Climate Fellow

Aminata Bocar Ba serves as the Africa regional manager at RELP, where she drives initiatives to accelerate sustainable energy adoption across Africa. At RELP, she focuses on helping governments design and implement effective renewable energy procurement programs that attract competitive investments.

With over eight years in the energy sector, Aminata most recently served as a senior advisor for the Tony Blair Institute from August 2022, working with USAID/Power Africa to advise Togo's Minister of Energy and Mines on achieving universal energy access by 2030.

Previously, as business development manager at Engie for West and Central Africa, she honed her skills in strategic planning and sector diagnostics. Her tenure as Senegal's senior advisor for the Power Africa Off-Grid program saw her secure over $4 million in funding for local businesses, contribute to regulatory framework development, and support the growth of approximately 20 off-grid companies.

Aminata holds an electrical engineering degree from the University of Quebec at Trois-Rivières and a master's in renewable energy and energy efficiency from Montreal's School of Higher Technology. This combination of technical expertise and practical experience in both public and private sectors positions her uniquely to advance renewable energy development across Africa.
