Gilberto Ribeiro de Oliveira Filho (“Giba”) is an entrepreneur and one of the pioneers of the impact investing industry in Latin America. As a Partner and Chief Investment Officer at VOX Capital he currently manages over US$200 million in funds dedicated to businesses seeking financial returns alongside positive social and environmental results. 

Giba started his career in 2006 at CAIXA, a government-run bank focused on public policies and financial inclusion and later joined PwC as a consultant on risk management for financial institutions. Prior to joining VOX Capital, he was part of the greenfield team that started Vale’s operations in Mozambique.

At VOX, where he has been since 2011, Giba leads investment strategy and operations and has participated in investment transactions with over 60 seed and early-stage tech companies within different sectors, such as healthcare, education, financial inclusion, and climate change. VOX is the first Brazilian impact investing firm and over the last years has increased its focus on strategies for tackling the climate crisis through investing in both tech and nature-based solutions within renewable energy, regenerative agriculture and sustainable food systems in Brazil.

Giba holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from São Paulo University (FEA-USP) and a Master of Science in Economics from Insper. An accredited asset management professional in Brazil (Res CVM  21 and CGA-ANBIMA), he is also a Certified ESG Investing professional by CFA Institute
