Hala Alobaidallah

2025 Climate Fellow

Hala Alobaidallah is a pioneering female engineer with a passion for the environment and sustainability. Hala was selected by Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Energy to work on the circular carbon economy (CCE) at its inception. As a carbon management expert at the ministry, she contributed significantly to developing the CCE framework, which was endorsed by the G20 through her work at KAPSARC and CDMDNA. She now heads multiple task forces within the CCE National Program, demonstrating Saudi Arabia’s commitment to climate solutions. Hala also oversees the rollout of carbon technologies, including direct air capture and carbon-cured concrete.

Hala graduated as an engineer from Alfaisal University, where she played an instrumental role in advancing opportunities for women and was a founding member of the Architecture Engineering department. After gaining field experience, she pursued a master’s in industrial engineering and engineering management at the University of Southern California. She later co-founded an AI-healthcare startup, SDM, focused on supporting underserved communities and promoting accessible healthcare.

A co-founder of Women in Energy, a nonprofit supporting women in the energy sector, Hala is also passionate about physical and mental wellness. She serves as a committee member and referee decision committee member at the Saudi Triathlon Federation.
