Khalid Ahmed

Khalid O.M. Ahmed is a development practitioner with over a decade of experience in impact investing, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) financing, economic empowerment, and poverty reduction. He has led the technical design, financial structuring, and implementation of over 8 MSMEs financing and poverty reduction programs, directing over $916 million to transformative initiatives across the Global South. As a thought practitioner, Khalid has contributed over 21 publications on poverty reduction and development finance. Beyond analysis, project design, and implementation, Khalid has played key roles in development advocacy through the SDGs Community of Practice and previous advocacy programs that enhanced the skills of over 21,000 students and researchers. 

Khalid holds a master’s in development and peace studies and completed a second master’s in development studies at the London School of Economics, supported by the Program for African Leadership full scholarship. He also holds a third master’s in finance from Harvard University, where he was recognized on the Dean’s List for exceptional academic achievements.
