Luana Gaspar

2024 Climate Fellow

Luana Gaspar heads the decarbonization department at PSR, a Brazilian energy consulting and software development firm with an international client base, which she joined in 2020. She has been involved mainly with projects that focus on the decarbonization of the energy sector and the insertion of new technologies and low-carbon solutions into energy systems, such as green hydrogen and other Power-to-X products, bioenergy (solid biomass, biofuels and biogas), electrification, and carbon capture and storage. Her work includes market analysis, calculation of production and implementation costs for different low-carbon fuels and technologies, assessment of energy certification systems, structuring of emission reduction strategies and analysis of the impact of public policies on the Brazilian energy transition.

She previously worked for two years at the managing consulting firm Visagio, assisting companies from different sectors to increase performance, and started her career as an intern at White Martins, a company of the Linde Group, working with the implementation of Industrial Gases related projects. Luana is a mentor for the NGO Women in Green Hydrogen, and she took part in the V BRICS Youth Energy Summit, which was held in South Africa, as a Brazilian delegate and panelist.

Luana has a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and is currently pursuing a MSc in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in Power Systems from Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio).
