Siddharth Sinha

2024 Climate Fellow

Siddharth Sinha leads public policy for Google’s initiatives in the geospatial, climate and sustainability sectors in India. This involves products, platforms and initiatives that leverage geospatial tools and AI to contribute towards climate mitigation, adaptation and protection.

Siddharth previously served as the Adviser to India’s G20 Sherpa during the Indian G20 Presidency and contributed to substantive policy matters, especially climate and the inclusion of the African Union into G20. Prior to this, Siddharth worked with the National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog), which is Government of India’s apex policy institution headed by the Prime Minister. As CEO Mr. Amitabh Kant’s Chief of Staff, Siddharth contributed to national climate policy matters including financing, transition pathways, clean mobility, circular economy and cleantech. Siddharth coordinated two of India’s key decarbonization initiatives — the ITF-DTEE and NDC-TIA, which, among others, resulted in the development of India’s first life cycle assessment model for transport emissions. He contributed to India’s COP26 strategy and the development of India’s Lifestyle for Environment (LiFE) campaign, which advocates for climate change to become a movement of the masses. Siddharth also served as India’s representative to OECD-International Transport Forum (ITF). 

Siddharth holds a B.Tech. degree in Electrical Engineering from Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), India and a Master of Public Administration in International Development (MPA-ID) from the London School of Economics, UK. He is also one of the recipients of the 2024 Salzburg Global Fellowship for the India-Japan Transformative Technology Network. Siddharth is a mountaineer and a TEDx speaker.
