Thais Ferraz

2026 Climate Fellow

Thais Ferraz has dedicated her career to addressing sustainability issues, working across the private and philanthropic sectors. She is currently the Program Director at the Institute for Climate and Society (ICS), a philanthropic organization dedicated to tackling climate change, which supports around 200 Brazilian civil society organizations and promotes connection between Brazil and global contexts.

Throughout her career, she has worked on projects that bridge the public sector, civil society and private sector. She has experience leading innovations on financial mechanisms for bioeconomy and promoting local development. Thais began her career as a trainee at Natura and later served as Institutional Director at the Arapyaú Institute.

Additionally, she volunteers as a board member for civil society organizations and teaches in MBA programs. She holds a degree in Biological Sciences from Unicamp, with a focus on sustainable agriculture from the University of Nebraska, and has specialized in socio-environmental management, project management, and adaptive leadership at the Harvard Kennedy School.
