Xiang ZHANG (Sean)

2023 Climate Fellow

Xiang ZHANG (Sean) is a director on climate change at Tencent in China. He is responsible for planning and implementing climate initiatives to achieve Tencent’s own carbon neutrality targets and to enable China’s low-carbon transition by leveraging Tencent's core competencies. 

Before Tencent, Sean worked in business and strategy consulting with several top tier consulting firms. He was the responsible partner on energy at Roland Berger China, where he advised many leading energy companies on their corporate strategies and low-carbon transformations. He also has broad consulting experience across a variety of sectors from finance to real estate, and has previously worked with the United Nations, Climate Group, and Schlumberger. Sean holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Management from Yale University, a Master of Environmental Science from the Chinese Academy of Sciences University (UCAS), and a Bachelor’s degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
