About

Davis Smith is an entrepreneur, educator, and global leader focused on building mission-driven organizations. He is the Founder of Cotopaxi, an outdoor brand and certified B Corp that has supported millions of people living in poverty. After serving as CEO for a decade, Smith stepped down to lead a three-year volunteer mission for his church in Recife, Brazil, alongside his wife and children.

Smith holds an MBA from The Wharton School, an MA in International Studies from the University of Pennsylvania’s Lauder Institute, and a BA in International Studies from Brigham Young University. Having lived across Latin America for nearly two decades, he is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese and has spent much of his career at the intersection of business, poverty alleviation, and global leadership.

He was selected as a Presidential Leadership Scholar by Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush and recognized as EY Entrepreneur of the Year and Utah Businessperson of the Year. He and his wife have four children.
