The exercise of statecraft
The Blue Center for Global Strategic Assessment supports the interdisciplinary study of statecraft and security by bringing together leading scholars and practitioners, and supporting research and teaching related to national defense, intelligence, and geoeconomics. The Center serves as the primary home at Yale and the Jackson School for professors, senior fellows, and students interested in strategic and security studies.

ResearchFall 2026 Courses
The Blue Center supports teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Courses are taught by faculty from Yale Jackson School and across the University, covering a wide range of topics from economic statecraft, to the practice of diplomacy, to the uses of big data. Blue Center courses often include practitioner guest speakers or ties to real-world events and governmental efforts
