Leslie M. Tsou is a retired U.S. diplomat with more than three decades of experience in Middle East diplomacy and national security. She concluded her Foreign Service career as U.S. Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, following senior assignments across the region. Tsou was the first Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem after its establishment and previously served in the same role at the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv. At the State Department, she served as Senior Advisor for Iran and Director of the Office of Iranian Affairs, helping shape U.S. policy toward Tehran. Her career also included service as Deputy Political Counselor in Baghdad, Arabian Peninsula Director at the White House National Security Council, and diplomatic postings in London, Tripoli, Kuwait, and Warsaw. She has received numerous State Department honors, including the Director General Award for Reporting.
