Xiuye ("Sue") Chen is a senior research scientist in the Department of Neuroscience at the Yale School of Medicine and a lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at the Yale School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.
Chen aims to leverage artificial intelligence to advance neuroscience research. In her doctoral research, she spearheaded a multi-lab project analyzing brain-wide activity in larval zebrafish. As data science lead at a biotech startup, she developed automated pipelines for precision cell manufacturing. As a research scientist at Amazon Alexa AI, she enhanced device and cloud-based deep learning models for Alexa Guard, implemented across Echo devices and Astro robots.
