Description:

The Jackson School of Global Affairs will host a conversation with Chris Christie, the former governor of New Jersey, on the future of democracy at home and abroad.

Jackson School Dean Jim Levinsohn will moderate the conversation.

Gov. Christie was inaugurated as the 55th governor of New Jersey in 2010 and served two terms. He was a Republican candidate for president in both 2016 and 2024.

Gov. Christie was elected chairman of the Republican Governors Association in 2014, leading the organization to the election of 31 Republican governors.

In 2017, President Donald J. Trump appointed Gov. Christie as chairman of the President’s Commission on Combating Drug Addiction and the Opioid Crisis. The commission issued a final report on November 1, 2017.

Prior to his service as governor, he was nominated by President George W. Bush and he served as the U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey from January 2002 to December 2008.
