International Security Studies concludes its Spring 2024 Colloquium Series with a presentation by Michael Brenes, co-Director of the Brady-Johnson Program in Grand Strategy and Lecturer in History. A historian of twentieth century U.S. foreign policy, Brenes has published his scholarly research in several academic journals and contributed numerous essays to newspapers and popular magazines. His most recent book, The Rivalry Peril: How Great-Power Competition Threatens Peace and Weakens Democracy, co-authored with Van Jackson, is forthcoming from Yale University Press.
Brenes will present material from his new project tentatively titled, A War for Our Times: The United States in the Age of Terror.
