Ronald Zhang graduated with first class honors from the University of Melbourne in 2017, with a Bachelor of Commerce with honors, majoring in economics and finance. His honors year research, in the field of development economics, culminated in a thesis titled “Educational outcomes for the young in migrant-sending households: Evidence from India.” Upon graduation, Ronald joined Bain & Company as a management consultant, advising on strategy and change management to clients spanning the financial services, energy and resources, retail and non-profit sectors. He subsequently briefly served as an Assistant Director of Strategy Development at the National Disability Insurance Agency, the Australian Government agency responsible for funding supports and services for people with a permanent and significant disability. Alongside his studies and work, Ronald maintained an active involvement with Oaktree, Australia’s largest youth-led development NGO, first as head of marketing and fundraising, and subsequently as a board director and deputy chair. At Jackson, he is pursuing an MPP with a focus on international development, with a particular interest in the role of financial inclusion as an enabler of equitable economic growth.
