Vivien Chang is a Postdoctoral Fellow in International Security Studies at Yale University's Jackson School of Global Affairs. She specializes in U.S. foreign relations, postcolonial Africa, Black internationalism, and the global economy. Her current project examines how anticolonial elites and Black Power activists in sub-Saharan Africa and the United States pursued economic sovereignty during the height of decolonization and the Cold War.

Before coming to Yale, Vivien was a predoctoral fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School's Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs. She received her PhD from the University of Virginia in 2022.
