William Myers is a Master of Advanced Study candidate at Yale’s Jackson School of Global Affairs, where his research interests include great power competition, national security, and democracy.  He would also like to brush up on his Arabic or Spanish as time allows.  William has served for over 16 years in the Special Operations Community and has deployed to countries in Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and Asia.  He is currently assigned to United States Army Special Operations Command at Ft. Liberty NC, where he will return following his time at Yale.  William graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude with a triple major in journalism, Spanish, and European studies from the University of Arkansas in 2004.  He then earned a M.A. in Middle East politics and international relations from the University of Arkansas in 2006.
