The Blue Center for Global Strategic Assessment supports interdisciplinary work related to advancing national defense, diplomacy, intelligence, and international economic relations. The center has a particular focus on how states can use data to improve their exercise of statecraft in these domains.

Courses

The Blue Center supports teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Our courses are taught by faculty from the Jackson School and across the University, covering a wide range of topics from economic statecraft, to the practice of diplomacy, to the uses of big data.

Research Initiatives

The Blue Center funds fixed-term, renewable initiatives related to its areas of scholarly focus. Initiatives run for either one or two years and are geared towards producing concrete, actionable insights. Applications for the inaugural round of initiatives will be accepted beginning in Fall 2024.

Throughout the academic year, the Blue Center brings to campus scholars and government practitioners from around the world to participate in a series of lectures, panels, conferences, and other events. These events provide students and faculty the opportunity to hear directly from those working on critical issues of statecraft.
