Planning an event? Please review Jackson’s policy on student-organized events to familiarize yourself with a few guidelines.
Jackson will amplify your publicity efforts, but we do not give student-organized events the same full promotional treatment as our major Jackson lectures.
Consider the intended audience for your event – is it open to select people (by invitation-only), anyone at Yale, or the general public (including community members from the local area). This impacts how the event is publicized. Be sure to mention in your description that this is a student-organized event.
If you’d like assistance with promoting your event, plan to reach out to Maureen Farrell, director of communications, at least two weeks before your event is scheduled – after it has been confirmed with Lily Sutton, director of student affairs.
For in-person events, please be sure you have secured a time, date and room before requesting assistance with publicity.
