Please join the Brady-Johnson Program in Grand Strategy for a conversation with Fareed Zakaria, host of Fareed Zakaria GPS on CNN, columnist for The Washington Post, and bestselling author. Zakaria will discuss his new book, Age of Revolutions: Progress and Backlash from 1600 to the Present, which explores how revolutionary change and upheaval in the past can help us better understand our fraught present. The conversation will be moderated by Arne Westad, Elihu Professor of History and Global Affairs, Director of International Security Studies, and Co-Director of the Brady-Johnson Program in Grand Strategy.

Zakaria is the author of several bestselling books, including The Future of Freedom (2003) and The Post-American World (2008). In 2019, he was named a “Top 10 Global Thinker of the Last 10 Years” by Foreign Policy magazine. Prior to his tenure at CNN, Zakaria was editor of Newsweek International, managing editor of Foreign Affairs, a columnist for Time, an analyst for ABC News, and the host of Foreign Exchange with Fareed Zakaria on PBS. Zakaria earned a bachelor’s degree from Yale University and a doctorate in political science from Harvard University.
