Britain and the Changing World Order

Room A60
Description:
The Blue Center for Global Strategic Assessment will host a discussion with Ambassador Barbara Woodward, UK Permanent Representative to the UN. As the UN turns 80, geopolitics is increasingly unpredictable. There are more conflicts ongoing than at any time since World War II. And the biggest three of those – Ukraine, Israel/Gaza, Sudan – span three continents. Over 300 million people need aid to survive, the climate keeps getting hotter, while AI and technology bring unknown frontiers. Are we facing a return to the ‘great power’ geopolitics of the past – or something altogether different? What does this mean for the future of the United Nations?
