Description:

The Blue Center for Global Strategic Assessment will host a conversation with Pere Aragonès, former President of Catalonia, on the role of political leadership in de-escalating secessionist conflicts and restoring stability.

Aragonès will reflect on the 2017 independence referendum, the Catalan Parliament’s unilateral declaration of independence, the response of Spanish institutions to the political crisis, and the negotiation of the 2024 Amnesty Law during his presidency, drawing broader lessons from Catalonia’s experience for conflict resolution worldwide.
