The Yale Schmidt Program, the Geopolitics of Technology Initiative, and the Yale Alexander Hamilton Society are honored to host Under Secretary of Commerce for Industry and Security Alan Estevez. Before being appointed by President Biden in 2022, Estevez served for 30 years in positions across the federal government, including at the DoD under President Obama. As under secretary, Estevez oversees the development and implementation of export controls to advance national security and foreign policy objectives.
Join us as we discuss the export controls placed against China to prevent their access to and development of cutting-edge semiconductor technologies, and what implications this has for the future of Indo-Pacific geopolitics.
