Zack Cooper
Zack Cooper, an assistant professor of public health who teaches classes for Jackson, just released a new study about health care costs. Results from the study are outlined in a front page article in the Dec. 15, 2015 New York Times, “The Experts Were Wrong About the Best Places for Better and Cheaper Health Care.”
The study found that places that spend less on Medicare do not necessarily spend less on health care over all.
“The reason why health insurance for the privately insured is expensive is because the prices from hospitals with a lot of market power are higher,” Cooper was quoted as saying.
