Seven Yale University juniors affiliated with the Jackson School of Global Affairs were among dozens of undergraduates recently honored by the Council of the Heads of Colleges in recognition of their scholarship, contributions to college life, and their character.
Six of the students received the John C. Schroeder Award, which is given to students who have contributed to residential college life and who, in the opinion of the committee, will “play a part in the good labor of the world.” The honored students include Global Affairs majors Daliya Ali El Abani and Lucas Aurore; Lilia Potter-Schwartz and Yana Jayampathy, who are scholars in the Global Health Studies program; and Brady-Johnson Program in Grand Strategy students William Barbee and Nicole Chen.
Additionally, Grand Strategy student Seung Min Baik received the Joseph Lentilhon Selden Memorial Junior Award, which is given to students who display verve, idealism, and constructive interest in music and the humanities.
