Adam Tufts (BK ‘26) is a philosophy major from Livermore, California, pursuing a certificate in the Global Health Studies program. His background in the humanities compels him to investigate the ways in which scientific pursuits, particularly in the realms of health and medicine, can incorporate considerations of ethics and accessibility into their frameworks. His principal interests are in the fields of bioethics, health equity, medical jurisprudence, healthcare policy, and science journalism. One of his central aims is to demystify through words and make information, scientific or other, as accessible as possible to the public. Extracurricularly, he is engaged with student organizations such as the Cortex Collective Magazine (lead dditor for the non-fiction science section), the Yale Daily News (writer for the joint opinion column, Publius), and the Yale Journal of Law and Medicine (managing editor). In his free time, he is either curled up with a Stephen King book or going on very long and very mindless walks.
