Amit Kamma is a junior at Yale University, double majoring in political science and urban studies. Inspired by his experiences growing up in Atlanta, Georgia, he is interested in studying how cities function and change, especially through public infrastructure, urban planning, and housing policy. By participating in the Grand Strategy program, he hopes to examine how strategic infrastructure development can help create more equitable, sustainable, and vibrant cities. Currently, Amit is an advocacy fellow at Desegregate CT, a nonprofit working to expand housing choice and access in the state. He also interns for New Haven’s Department of Transportation, Traffic & Parking, helping maintain and improve the city’s transportation network. On campus, Amit is a board member of Yale Model Congress, head recruitment coordinator for the Admissions Office, and performs improv as a member of the Purple Crayon.
