Angelin Matthew is a senior at Yale University studying molecular biology, philosophy, and global health. She grew up in Florida and has done research, since the age of 12, as a way of improving the world. Her award-winning investigations range from artificial tissue engineering, emerging wound healing technologies, and disparities in oncological care in the U.S. Currently, she is writing at the intersection of philosophy and medicine. Angelin is also the founder of a global initiative seeking to understand the spiritual needs of terminally ill patients and CEO of Forever Kin, a startup in honor of a friend’s legacy. She is also passionate about teaching and youth empowerment; she has worked to implement education for genocide awareness, helped organize a Model UN conference in Korea, served on the Yale College Council, and volunteers with the HAVEN Free Clinic. In her free time, Angelin enjoys performing Indian classical dance, reading theology, and volunteering in New Haven.
