Anjalie Thomas is a first-year MPP student at the Jackson School of Global Affairs focusing on sustainable global development, specifically at the intersection of climate change and women’s political participation. She is keen on pursuing strategy and management opportunities in the sustainable development space by harnessing her combination of data-driven analytical skills and public policy knowledge.

Before coming to Yale, Anjalie worked in Singapore as a data analyst at Bloomberg where she was responsible for managing a dataset of earnings events of publicly traded companies across ASEAN and South Asia. During her time at Bloomberg, she spent six months volunteering in a mentoring capacity with the Centre for Advocacy and Research as part of the Bloomberg Data for Good Exchange initiative. The project aimed to build a dashboard for tracking access to climate-resilient water, sanitation, and hygiene amenities at the ward level along the axes of gender and caste in rural India. Prior to the data analyst role, Anjalie interned as a research assistant at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Bangkok, where she led a research project evaluating the efficacy of livelihood programs for refugees across the APAC region.

Anjalie graduated magna cum laude with a double major in economics and political science from Singapore Management University.
